Rodney Stuckey Review

Rodney Stuckey is 6’4, 205 pounds and has the ability to play both guard positions. He can flat out score points, and with a good ball handler with nice passing skills.

He is good at driving to the basket, has good body strength, and can create shots for himself while breaking down defenders. He has a nice pull up shot off the dribble, along with a decent mid-range game. He is also a solid three point and free throw shooter. Rodney is a good defensive player, is good at getting steals, and is an ok rebounder. A knock on him is he doesn’t always put full effort on the defensive end, he plays well against weaker competition, so it’s hard to say if he is capable of playing against the best.

Rodney doesn’t really get teammates involved much, he likes playing one on one ball. Some observers say he’ll struggle to get his shot off in the NBA because he’s small and doesn’t have a lot of athleticism, but I think it depends on the defense, he has a scorers mentality and knows how to get shots off one way or another, he does what it takes. His first two college seasons he was very consistent on the stat sheet playing 33 minutes, getting 24 points and 4 rebounds, along with 4-5 assist and 2 steals a game.

Overall I see Rodney Stuckey playing like a Dajuan Wagner or a Randy Foye. He is probably better off playing shooting guard, but like I mentioned before he lacks size and athleticism which may or may not hinder his game in the NBA. I’m more interested to see if he is able to play against NBA competition and still be able to play the same way, but it will probably take him awhile to adapt to playing his game at that level.

Rodney could go anywhere from a mid first round pick to an early second round pick, they’ll look more into his workouts than what he did in college.

FYI Allie Rock he asked me out at a party one time and I turned him down, because he is an arrogant jerk. I don’t care what records and awards he got, he is a ball hog, that played against weak comepetiton. He thinks he is A.I. and he’s nothing close to A.I. I don’t care what you guys say he will be a bench warming bust. The Next Qyntel Woods. .

This is for "Jill" who made the nasty comment above-What do you know about basketball? Have you seen all the records he has broken and awards he received? Have you watched him play since he was a boy? Do you think the NBA drafts boys not men? You shouldn’t be talking about subjects you don’t know anything about!!!! HE IS AMAZING! Apparently you got "shot down" and are bitter..hmmmmm .

Wow Ken, tell us how you really feel. Then go look at his numbers against non "small school" comp like UWash and Gonzaga and come say he can’t run with the schools that matter. He didn’t have grades to go to UW, so he ended up a Prop 48 kid at Eastern. He absolutely has Pac-10 plus skills .

Not sure why they think he is to small, he’s got the same size that Dwayne Wade had coming into the league. He’s taller than Ben Gordon and Baron Davis, neither of those guys have trouble getting their shot off. The guy is talented, it will take a few years but he will adjust to the NBA game and be solid for years to come. .

He’ll be a decent player in the league, I don’t see him putting up numbers like he did in college. But he’ll be cool being a combo guard. They’ll use him in different ways and he has enough skills to adapt to many situations I think. He should have come back one more year and I think he’d be a top 10 pick if he put up the same consistent stats again. .

His game won’t be no where close to what it was in college. The NBA is a mans game and he is still a boy. He is the type of player that thinks he’s better than he is. I have watched him in person the last 2 yrs, because I go to the same school. He is arrogant. I wish him the best, but as a person and a player he is still immature. .

He did put up nice consistent stats the past 2 seasons, you can’t argue with that. The only thing is his size where will a team think he can play at for them. I agree with Lance 2 guard is a better spot for, he doesn’t seem to have a point guard mentality. .

Dude Hot-Rod was one of the best players in college basketball the last 2 years, and teams will overlook at his skills because he did it a smaller school, so there for he’ll be the steal of the draft. .

He’ll be a bust coming outta of a small school. He seems like the type of player, that thinks he’s better than he really is, and will never get any better. Playing small school competition ain’t gonna cut it. .
