A Look At Drew Neitzel

A Look At Drew Neitzel

Drew Neitzel is 6’0, 185 pounds and will be a senior at Michigan State. He improved his scoring by 10 points a game last season.

Drew has become one of the best point guards in college basketball. He has good court vision, is a good passer, and he runs the offense well. He likes to keep his teammates involved and create easy shots for them. He can shoot the ball with either hand from nice range, he has a good three point shot, and he is a good free throw shooter. He is a hardworker in practice and in games giving 100% of his effort. He is very quick and he likes to attack the basket to draw fouls. He is a smart player and a good leader and also very competitive. He plays well in big games and he is a clutch player.

Drews defensive skills need work and he is not very athletic. I have heard some scouts say they don’t think he’ll be as good as a pro, they are concerned with his size they feel he won’t be as effective against NBA guards. They also feel his lack of athletic ability will hinder him, and also whether his skills will carry over in the NBA to be a productive player at the next level.

I think he could be a solid player off the bench and can contribute in some way. I think as long as Drew keeps playing with heart giving his all, and continues to work on improving he has a good shot at being able to compete at the NBA level. I see similarities between him and Luke Ridnour.

There could be a lot of young PG’s declaring for the draft this summer, and many teams may want a good veteran instead. I think Drew could be this years Acie Law .

I love D-Neitz, he is a solid player. I like the way he plays ball. I hope he has another great year and hope he gets drafted in the first round in the summer. .

I like Drew Neitzel, he is a hard worker and his efforts to improve his game always shows. I sort of agree with scouts about him and his ability to play at the next level, but I won’t count him out. I think he has a good shot at playing in the nba in the future .

Drew is one of the top PGs in college, if he has another season like he did last year, there is no way someone won’t take a chance on him in the draft whether it be in the first or second round. I think he is better than many nba PGs right now .

I say Drew gonna be a flop if he gets to the nba, just like Mateen Cleaves a former Spartan. He probably won’t even be like him atleast he was a lottery pick. Neitzel is gonna be like Gerry McNamara won’t get drafted and fighting just to make it on a squad which won’t happen, so he might as well pack his bags and take them overseas, with the other overrated former college stars .

I agree Lance, I think he could atleast be a solid back up in the nba, I’m sure he has something to offer. .
