Derrick Byars is the steal of this draft...hands down. He was the POY in the SEC, that’s right, the same conference that Florida plays in. Jeff Green of Georgetown was reduced to a bystander against this kid in the NCAA’s. His biggest fault was being a senior in a draft where NBA teams are searching for younger palyers with potential. You know what potential means, it means ain’t done s---yet! Byars, if given the opportunity, will be an all-star in the league. .

I think the list is good and valid, the "no steals" are overrated and underdeveloped most of them are rushing into the league and won’t get PT, the other older players are just decent at best but their definetly not steals. The "steals" lance has are good choices because they’re underrated and all are capable of playing now. .

I don’t like this list it is backwards. I won’t say the foreign dudes aint steals cause i don’t know about them. So they could be steals, but i’d bet one of them gone be sorry. Huluska, Green, Gray, Fazekas they gone be sorry in the league if they make it at all. Maybe stuckey or almond is a steal but not both. Recent steals in the playoffs now: Jason Maxiell, Daniel Gibson, Paul Millsap, 2 senoirs and 1 who "wasnt ready".Other s recent (2 years or less) steals in playoffs: Luther Head, Jordan Farmar, linas klieza, monte ellis, marcus williams .

Love the list I see pros for the steals and cons for the no steals. STEALS- Mature, Dependable, Expierenced, Solid Stats, Capable of playing now.NO STEALS- Inconsistent, Less Expierenced, Need Development, Decent Stats, Can’t contribute now. .

All the no steals except J-Noah will even won’t even really play much their first two years. They all are inconsistent and need time to develop to be solid NBA contributers, most of them should’ve stayed in school longer to improve. Lances steals are underrated and are more polished and dependable with decent track records in past play. Those are no doubt qualities for players to be steals in a draft. .

Go point Howard. Thats whats makes Lances list valid to me, because all these are steals most aren’t high on teams list, or talk about a great deal, but they’re all players that can contribute now, unlike the inconsistent players that are in the no steals. Always take the dependable, than the iconsistent you’re always better off most of the time. .

I like all the steals and I would possibly add Brandon Rush and Spencer Hawes to the list also, if they dropped in the draft. But yeah alot of people are hyping up the talented, but underskilled players? If they’re just ok college players what makes them steals in the NBA? They’ll be sitting on the bench not getting any better, and by time they are able to contribute, their rookie contract is up and they’re off to another team. I’ll give two examples Gilbert Arenas and Carlos Boozer. .

Lance you’re probably correct about most of these steals and no steals, it’s a valid list to me. The steals on your list have alot better chance to contribute sooner than the no steals that most people overrhype. .

I’m really excited about some of your steals like Nick Fazekas, Taurean Green, Adam Haluska, and Dominic McGuire. And I’m tired of hearing people say Glen Davis, Daequan Cook, and D.J. Strawberry are steals, they’ll be at the end of a bench for atleast a few years, before they’re even decent role players. .

I 99% agree with the list, I’m just border line with Aaron Gray, I’m not really sure how well he can play in the NBA. .

I think Joakim Noah is a steal if he’s not selected in the lottery. Otherwise I have no disagreements with the list. .

I also agree the no steals are overrated. They were cool in college, but the way most of these guys play won’t carry over in the NBA. Lances steals all have potential to contribute right away. .

No doubt a good list. I honestly believe all of them could be steals in the draft, from your side. The no steals are overhyped by alot of people, and they will underachieve. .

you may be right on all these guys, but i’m a warriors fan and i’d sure love it if noah wound up on golden state. not that he will, but it would be nice. it’s hard to even think about a draft in which the warriors weren’t in the lottery (not that it did them much good over the years - remember todd fuller is an oakland motto...) .

I couldn’t agree with u more. I would just put Aaron Gray in the "no steal" guys. It’s just my opinion, but a great list overall .
