Avery Johnson Unrepentant about Benching Jason Kidd

Avery Johnson knew he was going to open up a jumbo-sized can of criticism when he held out Jason Kidd for the last 34.5 seconds against San Antonio on Thursday.

What he hadn’t planned on was the accompanying suggestions that he and Kidd are having deeper problems.

While Johnson dealt with the fallout of his decision, owner Mark Cuban said he didn’t need an explanation from his coach about the situation. [The Dallas Morning News]
