Las Vegas, NV (Basketball News) - Louis Amundson posted team-highs with 15 points and 13 rebounds in leading the UNLV Rebels to a 79-67 victory over the Wyoming Cowboys in Mountain West Conference action from the Thomas & Mack Center.
Odartey Blankson also had 15 points for UNLV (9-7, 2-2 MWC), while Jerel Blassingame and Dustin Villepigue both tallied 12 points. Andy Hannan was the fifth Rebel to register in double-figures, scoring 10 points.
Jay Straight had a game-high 21 points in the losing effort for the Cowboys (10-8, 2-3), while Jerry Webb finished with 12 points and five rebounds.
UNLV closed the first half on a 15-4 run, allowing it to take a commanding 39-30 advantage into the locker rooms.
The Rebels made 12-of-17 free throw attempts in the second stanza, as they cruised to the 12-point victory.
Wyoming connected on just 33.8 percent of its shots from the field and turned the ball over 19 costly times.
