Chicago, IL (Basketball News) - Eddy Curry scored 25 points and Ben Gordon tallied 17 to lead the Chicago Bulls over the Memphis Grizzlies, 94-86, at the United Center.
Tyson Chandler added 13 points and 14 boards for the Bulls, who have won six straight. Andres Nocioni added 12 points for Chicago, which has won three in a row at home.
"Eddy was very impressive," said Chicago head coach Scott Skiles.
Bonzi Wells scored 11 of his season-high 30 points in the fourth quarter, as the Grizzlies rallied from an 18-point fourth quarter deficit to draw within one possession in the final minutes.
"I just got in the zone a bit," said Wells of his effort. "It was nice coach kept calling my name. i just tried to put my team in a position to win."
Mike Miller had 11 points and nine boards for Memphis, which has dropped two straight and three of four but remains in seventh place in the Western Conference playoff standings - one game ahead of Memphis and three behind Houston.
Chicago appeared to be cruising until the late stages of the contest. The Bulls scored six straight points early in the fourth to grab an 81-63 lead. A Jannero Pargo three-pointer capped the surge, giving his club an 18-point advantage with 9:49 on the clock.
Memphis, however, used the long ball to get back into it as Wells, Earl Watson and Miller hit consecutive three-pointers to cut the deficit to 81-72 two minutes later.
Later, trailing 84-75, the Grizzlies went on a 9-2 run to draw within 86-84. Miller’s driving layup with 3:02 remaining capped the run, which saw Wells score five points.
After two free throws by Curry with 2:47 left, Miller again hit a jumper to keep the deficit at two, 88-86. But that would be as close as the Grizzlies would get.
Nocioni hit a pair of free throws on Chicago’s ensuing possession and Memphis went cold from the field, missing three straight shots that would have made it a one possession game.
Tyson Chandler then put the game out of reach with a pair of free throws with 12 seconds left that made it a 92-86 contest.
Chicago, which shot 46 percent for the game, led 26-23 after one quarter and 51-42 going into the locker room. Memphis, which hit 44 percent of its shots, went into the fourth down 75-61.
