Seattle, WA (Basketball News) - Ray Allen finished with 30 points and Rashard Lewis netted 24, as the Seattle SuperSonics clinched their Western Conference quarterfinal series against the Sacramento Kings with a 122-118 victory in Gmae 5 at KeyArena.
The Sonics won the best-of-seven series, 4-1, to advance to the conference semifinals for the first time since 1998. That year Seattle defeated Minnesota in the opening round before falling to the Los Angeles Lakers in the conference semis.
Nick Collison added 15 points and nine rebounds for the Sonics, who will face the winner of the San Antonio/Denver series in the next round. The Spurs currently hold a 3-1 series’ lead over the Nuggets and could close out the set with a win at home on Wednesday.
Antonio Daniels posted 14 points and eight assists in the victory.
Peja Stojakovic poured in a game-high 38 points and Mike Bibby added 35 points and 10 assists for the Kings, who were knocked out in the opening round for the first time since losing to the Lakers in 2000.
Brad Miller chipped in 14 points and 11 assists for Sacramento.
