The Bobcats suffered a 108-101 home loss to the Denver Nuggets on Sunday. Emeka Okafor had 22 points, 15 boards and three blocks for the Bobcats, who have lost five of six to start the season.
Brevin Knight added 21 points, seven assists and six boards, while Gerald Wallace registered 20 points and seven rebounds for Charlotte, which never recovered from a double-digit deficit in the third quarter.
Charlotte is 0-2 as the guest this season and will visit San Antonio and Orlando following Tuesday’s game against New Orleans/Oklahoma City.
The Hornets have dropped three in a row after opening the season with four straight wins. On Sunday they suffered a 92-76 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers at the Staples Center.
Chris Paul had a team-best 20 points, but turned the ball over six times for the Hornets. Bobby Jackson contributed 12 points in defeat.
New Orleans/Oklahoma City won both meetings against Charlotte last season and have won three straight in the series. The Bobcats have dropped both of their games at the Hornets.
