Boozer helped the Cavaliers to a 2-1 record last week by averaging 20.7 points, 15.3 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game. On January 20, he poured in 32 points and hauled in 20 rebounds in a 99-94 win over Seattle. Two nights later, he posted 15 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and handed out six assists in a 95-89 loss to the Sacramento Kings.
The Duke product then netted 15 points and pulled down 15 boards in a January 24 win over Philadelphia.
Garnett led Minnesota to a 4-0 mark last week while recording four straight double- doubles. He averaged 24.5 points, 15.0 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 2.0 blocks per game. Garnett scored 24 points, grabbed 15 rebounds and had seven assists in a 97-90 win over New Orleans on January 19.
Two nights later, he tallied 28 points and 11 boards against Toronto and on January 23, he scored 22 points, hauled in 17 rebounds and handed out six assists in an 80-79 win over the Pistons.
Other candidates for Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week were Michael Finley of Dallas, Golden State’s Erick Dampier, Lamar Odom of Miami, Milwaukee’s Michael Redd, New Orleans’ Darrell Armstrong and Tracy McGrady of Orlando.
