Neurological tests on Brown came back normal, but he was taken to an area hospital for further evaluation. The club announced he would not return to Game 2, leaving it shorthanded in the backcourt.
Derek Fisher, who was on the active roster for Game 2, was en route to EnergySolutions Arena after missing the series opener Monday night because of family reasons. Starting point guard Deron Williams then proceeded to pick up two fouls in the game’s first 59 seconds.
Brown slid into the middle of the lane just over midway through the first stanza, attempting to draw a charge against Warriors forward Matt Barnes. His teammate, 260-pound Mehmet Okur, landed on top of him, pushing Brown’s chin into his chest.
The guard remained on the floor for several minutes in obvious pain before being helped to the locker room.
