Bucks looking more like fawns

Maybe someone should have told the Bucks that road results also count towards their 2006-07 record. Milwaukee has lost three straight, 14 of 15 and 17 of its last 19 games away from the friendly confines of the Bradley Center. It has also played to the tune of a 9-28 road record this season.

Milwaukee was without star guard Michael Redd for some time earlier this season, and is currently playing without top forwards Andrew Bogut (foot) and Charlie Villanueva (shoulder).

Redd has been doing all he can to resurrect his squad, averaging 27.0 ppg this season. Over his last 12 contests, Redd is posting 26.1 points per game, including a 52-point performance in a loss to Chicago on March 4. It was the second time Redd scored 50 points in a losing effort this season. He posted a team-record 57 points on November 11 against Utah.

Redd and the Bucks are currently seven games off the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, and will have to learn how to play cohesive hoops on the road.

One player who is having no problem making a name for himself this season is Bucks guard Charlie Bell. Bell has 17 games this season with 20 or more points after recording just one last season.

Bell is averaging career highs in points (13.3), rebounds (2.9), assists (2.9), steals (1.2) and minutes (34.6) in 2006-07. Bell, the only player on the roster to play in all 70 games this season, has also started 52 games after starting just six in 2005-06.

New head coach Larry Krystkowiak opened his tenure on a good note by winning the first two tests against San Antonio and Charlotte. However, the Bucks fell back to earth with four straight losses, including a close 105-103 setback to Dallas on Wednesday night in the second installment of a three- game road trip.

Krystkowiak and Co. will close out the trek on Friday at Charlotte.

After the swing the Bucks will open a three-game homestand versus Washington, New Orleans/Oklahoma City and Boston. They will play six of seven games at the Bradley Center following tomorrow night’s tilt at the Bobcats.
