Bucks, Magic meet in Orlando

03.5.2007

(Basketball News) - The Orlando Magic try to get back on the winning track tonight when they open a short two-game homestand versus the Milwaukee Bucks at Amway Arena.

The Magic, who are third in the Southeast Division, have dropped three in a row, including Saturday’s 103-98 loss to the red-hot Dallas Mavericks. Dwight Howard had 25 points, 10 rebounds and four blocked shots for the Magic, who have lost nine straight times at Dallas.

Hedo Turkoglu added 19 points and seven boards, as Orlando suffered its seventh loss in eight games. The Magic will also host Chicago on the stand, and are 18-12 at home this season. They have dropped two straight at home.

In injury news for Orlando, guard Grant Hill (foot) and forward Tony Battie (thumb) are both questionable for Monday’s game against Milwaukee.

The Bucks will also try to return to the win column this evening. On Sunday, Ben Gordon poured in a career-high 48 points and the Chicago Bulls erased an 18-point, fourth-quarter deficit to stun Milwaukee, 126-121, in overtime at the Bradley Center.

Michael Redd had a monster game, scoring 52 points on 18-of-32 from the field, including 8-of-13 from beyond the arc for the Bucks, who had a three-game winning streak halted and lost for the 12th time in their last 16 games overall.

Ruben Patterson netted 17 points, while Andrew Bogut scored 13 and grabbed 11 boards and Mo Williams contributed 14 points, seven rebounds and eight assists in defeat. Milwaukee is just 9-25 on the road this season.

Monday’s showdown between Milwaukee and Orlando is the third of four meetings this season. The series is tied at a game apiece and both teams will meet again on April 9 at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee.

Milwaukee has won five of eight and eight of the last 12 meetings. The Bucks, however, have dropped three straight and four of the last five at Orlando.
