Celtics stop off in Orlando

(Basketball News) - The Orlando Magic try to collect their fourth straight win when they welcome the Boston Celtics tonight to Amway Arena.

This is the second meeting of the season between the clubs. On November 13th, Jameer Nelson scored 24 points to lead the Magic to a 92-89 victory over the Celtics at TD Banknorth Garden.

Boston has lost two straight and three of its last four at Orlando. The Magic have won two in a row and four of the last five contests in this series.

Orlando plays the finale of a four-game homestand. Rising star Dwight Howard had 22 points, 12 rebounds and four blocks as the Magic erupted for 16 straight points in the second half to down the Charlotte Bobcats, 106-74, on Friday at Amway Arena.

Nelson scored 20 points and Hedo Turkoglu finished with 14 points and five assists in the win over the Bobcats for Orlando, which has won five of its last nine games overall.

On the injury front for Orlando, forward Grant Hill (sore tendon in left foot) is questionable for tonight’s contest. Has has missed three straight contests. Hills is averaging 15.1 points per game this season.

The Magic are 13-6 as the host this season. After tonight’s contest, they will embark on a four-game road trip. Orlando is scheduled to visit Golden State, the Lakers, Phoenix and New Orleans/Oklahoma City on the upcoming swing.

Boston tries to win its second straight game, as it wraps up a short two-game road trip. Wally Szczerbiak scored 26 points as the Celtics beat the Memphis Grizzlies, 128-119, on Friday at the FedExForum.

Tony Allen scored 20 points in the win over the Grizzlies for Boston, while Delonte West netted 16 and dished out 11 assists. Brian Scalabrine scored 16 points and Al Jefferson ended with 12 points and nine boards.

The Celtics are 8-9 on the road this season. They return home to host the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday and the Toronto Raptors on Friday.
