Chicago Bulls Team Report - January 26 01.26.2004

(Basketball News) - Jamal Crawford scored a game-high 27 points, as the Chicago Bulls halted their six-game losing streak with a 96-89 victory over the Toronto Raptors and some former teammates on Sunday at the United Center.
Antonio Davis added 14 points and 14 rebounds against his former mates on the Raptors, who have now dropped five straight.
Chicago acquired Davis as part of a six-player trade with Toronto in December, sending Jalen Rose and Donyell Marshall north of the border as part of the deal.
The Bulls, who had dropped eight of their previous nine games, let the Raptors get within 65-63 at the end of three quarters and allowed them to hang around until four minutes passed in the fourth quarter.
Chicago then used a 9-1 burst to take control of the game, vaulting to an 83-72 advantage on Crawford’s jumper around the 5:00 mark.
The lead hovered around double digits until Toronto scored five unanswered to pull within 87-81 with just over two minutes remaining. But that six-point deficit was as close as the Raptors would come the rest of the way.
Before the game, Chicago placed veteran guard Kendall Gill on the injured list with a strained right Achilles’ tendon.
Crawford is averaging 21 points and seven assists in the last two games.
The Bulls are off until Tuesday when they start a seven-game road trip in LA against Elton Brand and the Clippers.
