Chicago Bulls Team Report - November 20 11.20.2004
|
(Basketball News) - The Chicago Bulls failed to pick up their first win of the season on Friday, as they dropped a 99-81 decision to the Denver Nuggets at the Pepsi Center.
Andres Nocioni tallied a personal-best 22 points to lead the Bulls, losers of their first seven games en route to their worst start to a season since 1967-68 (0-9). Kirk Hinrich registered 10 points and dished out 10 assists while Eddie Curry scored 10 in the setback.
Chicago and the New Orleans Hornets (0-7) are the only two winless teams in the NBA. The 1967-68 Bulls team ended the season 29-53.
After a finger roll by Hinrich gave Chicago a 66-65 edge with five minutes left in the third period, the Nuggets went ahead for good with a 14-4 run — ignited by an Earl Boykins three-pointer.
Center Tyson Chandler and forward Eddy Curry have struggled in the last two games, combining for 21 points and 17 rebounds over that span.
Chicago continues its season-long, seven-game road trip in Los Angeles on Sunday against the Lakers. The Bulls lost both matchups with the Lakers last season, but have split the last six meetings. Chicago, though, has lost two in a row and six of its last seven in LA.
