Cleveland Cavaliers Team Report - January 16 01.16.2004
|
(Basketball News) - The Cleveland Cavaliers were denied their fourth road win of the season on Thursday, as they dropped a 119-102 decision to the Golden State Warriors.
Rookie LeBron James had 29 points, six rebounds and six assists and Eric Williams contributed 21 points for the Cavaliers, who have lost four of five.
James was 4-of-12 from the floor in the first half and ended the game 8-for-21 from the field. He also had a highlight reel left-handed dunk late in the third quarter.
The Cavs have dropped six of seven on the road and are just 3-19 away from home last season. However, their next win on the road will give it more victories than all of last season on the opposition’s floor.
On the injury front, Kedrick Brown missed the game with a thigh injury, while Ira Newble was activated from the injured list prior to the game. To make room for Newble on the roster the team placed J.R. Bremer (ankle) on the injured list.
Cleveland returns to action on Saturday when they wrap up its six-game homestand against the Utah Jazz.
