(Basketball News) - The Cleveland Cavaliers fell to the Dallas Mavericks, 126-109, on Tuesday at American Airlines Center.
LeBron James paced the Cavaliers with 28 points, only eight of which came in the second half. Cleveland, mired in a five-game slide, got 23 points and 20 rebounds from Carlos Boozer and now trail Boston for the eighth and final spot in the East by two games.
Zydrunas Ilgauskas added 26 points, while Lee Nailon posted 23 points and seven boards in his first start of the season for the Cavs.
The Cavaliers are off until Friday when they visit the Milwaukee Bucks. Cleveland is 1-1 against Milwaukee this season. The teams will meet again on April 12th at Gund Arena.
James has scored in double digits in 21 straight games. He has averaged 21.4 points in his last 10 contests.
