Thomas has averaged 10.3 points and 4.5 rebounds in nine NBA seasons with Philadelphia, Milwaukee, New York, Chicago and Phoenix.
"Tim is a multi-talented player who can play several positions for us," said Clippers vice president of basketball operations Elgin Baylor. "He is very versatile offensively and is able to stretch the defense with his perimeter shooting as well as having a good post up game."
He started last season with the Bulls but only played three games due to friction between him and the organization. He was then traded to the Suns and averaged 11 points over 26 games before becoming a critical component in the team’s playoff run.
Thomas was selected with the seventh overall pick in the 1997 NBA Draft, and enjoyed his most productive campaign in 2003-04, when he totaled a career-high 14.7 points per game with Milwaukee and New York.
The Clippers also signed forward Paul Davis, their second round selection in this year’s draft. The 6-foot-11 Davis averaged 13.2 points and seven rebounds during his four-year career at Michigan State.
