Clippers try to stay in hunt for playoff berth versus Sacramento 04.15.2007

The Clippers and Warriors are tied for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference. They are just a half game behind the seventh-seeded Lakers, who host the SuperSonics this evening.
On Friday, Cuttino Mobley scored 22 points and the Clippers stayed right in the thick of the playoff chase with a 107-89 rout of the Portland Trail Blazers at the Staples Center.
Elton Brand scored 20 points, while Corey Maggette and Chris Kaman ended with 17 points apiece for the Clippers, who have won two straight after dropping three in a row.
The Clippers are 25-14 as the host this season. They will visit the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday at US Airways Center before returning home to face the Hornets at the Staples Center.
Sacramento plays its final road game of the campaign. On Friday, Stephen Jackson scored 26 points and grabbed eight rebounds and Baron Davis tallied 25 points to lead the Golden State Warriors to an easy 125-108 victory over the Kings at ARCO Arena.
Shareef Abdur-Rahim had 23 points and 14 boards to lead the Kings, who have lost two straight contests. Kevin Martin registered 18 points and Francisco Garcia netted 16 in defeat.
The Kings are just 12-28 on the road this season. Sacramento will finish the season with a pair of home games against the Hornets on Monday and the Lakers on Wednesday at ARCO Arena.
