Clippers visit Utah

11.14.2006

(Basketball News) - Two teams that are off to excellent starts in the new season square off tonight, as the red-hot Los Angeles Clippers visit the Utah Jazz at the Delta Center.

The Clippers try to win their sixth straight game. Elton Brand finished with 22 points and 10 rebounds to pace the Clippers past the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets, 92-76, at the Staples Center.

Corey Maggette scored 14 points off the bench and veteran Sam Cassell netted 13 for Los Angeles, which has won five straight since its opening-night loss at Phoenix.

LA is 0-1 on the road this season.

The Jazz, who return home after going 2-1 on a three-game road trip, enter tonight’s contest on a two-game winning streak.

Carlos Boozer posted a season-high 32 points to go along with 10 rebounds and Matt Harpring scored the winning basket, as the Jazz kept up their impressive start to the new campaign with a 113-111 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks at the Bradley Center.

Deron Williams finished with 27 points and 15 assists in the win over Milwaukee for Utah, which has won six of its first seven to begin the year. Harpring netted 17 and Paul Millsap added a career-high 15 points, while Mehmet Okur grabbed 11 rebounds.

Utah is 3-0 at home this season. The Jazz will visit Ray Allen and the Seattle SuperSonics on Friday at KeyArena.

The Clippers won two of three from the Jazz last season. The Clippers have lost six straight and 32 of their last 33 at Utah.
