Nuggets pick up option on Nene

Originally selected by the New York Knicks with the seventh overall pick of the 2002 NBA Draft, Nene was acquired by the Nuggets in a draft-day trade. He has averaged 11.1 points and 6.3 rebounds per game in his first two seasons in Denver and is under contract through the 2005-06 season.
Last season, the 6-foot-11, 260-pound Nene averaged 11.8 points and 6.5 rebounds in 77 games.
In addition, the team declined the fourth-year option on the contract of Nikoloz Tskitishvili. The forward has appeared in 120 games for the Nuggets in his first two seasons, averaging 3.5 ppg and 2.0 rpg.
