=== Dallas Mavericks Team Report - March 27 ===

(Basketball News) - The Dallas Mavericks suffered a heart-breaking overtime loss on Friday, falling 119-118 to the Miami Heat at AmericanAirlines Arena.

The Heat trailed by three points with just 4.1 seconds left when Lamar Odom went to the foul line. He made his first attempt, and when the second missed, the ball deflected off Dallas forward Antoine Walker and out of bounds.

Rafer Alston then drained a running three-pointer off the inbounds pass, making the shot from the left wing with 7-foot-6 Dallas center Shawn Bradley in his face.

Mavs guard Steve Nash then missed a tough shot on the inbounds pass at the other end.

Dallas was led by rookie guard Marquis Daniels, who scored a career-high 31 points — 21 points higher than his previous best. Dirk Nowitzki added 25 points and 12 rebounds before fouling out, as the Mavericks fell to 1-3 on their current five-game road trip.

The Mavs remained in sixth place in the Western Conference, 2 1/2 games in front of the Houston Rockets and two games back of the Memphis Grizzlies.

Dallas, which will close its trip on Sunday in Orlando, has lost seven of its last 10 on the road and is just 14-23 away from home this season.

The Mavericks defeated the Magic earlier in the year and could be at a disadvantage on Sunday, as the home team in this series has won 11 straight meetings. Dallas has also dropped five straight and 12 of its last 13 in Orlando.
