|
(Basketball News) - The Dallas Mavericks were blown out by the Minnesota Timberwolves, 121-97, on Wednesday at the Target Center.
Michael Finley and Marquis Daniels each scored 16 points for Dallas, which saw its six-game winning streak snapped. Dirk Nowitzki struggled on the night, making just 5-of-13 shots for 15 points. Dallas, known for its three-point shooting, hit just 2-of-10 from beyond the arc.
The Mavericks played their second straight contest without starting guard Steve Nash. Nash, who is averaging 14.4 points to go along with his 8.3 assists per contest, has been suffering from a stomach virus.
Dallas has lost five of its last seven at Minnesota. The Mavericks fell to 11-17 on the road for the season.
Finley has scored in double digits in 24 straight games. He is averaging 21.9 points in his last 10 contests.
The Mavericks are off until Friday when they visit the San Antonio Spurs. This will be the fourth and final contest between the two clubs, as Dallas has won all three of the previous games with the Spurs.
