Antawn Jamison had his third double-double of the season with 14 points and 13 rebounds in the win. Steve Nash and Josh Howard contributed 17 and 15 points respectively for the Mavericks, who were coming off back-to-back losses.
Nash made two free throws with 31 seconds to go to extend the Mavs’ lead to 88-83.
Kevin Garnett then hit two from the line to cut the lead to three. On the ensuing possession, Antoine Walker hit a big jumper with 5.4 seconds left to make it 90-85 in favor of Dallas.
Garnett hit a three with two seconds left cutting the Mavs’ lead to two, but Nash was fouled immediately on the inbound and hit both of his free throws to seal the win.
