DeClercq sent to the IL

02.11.2004

Orlando, FL (Basketball News) - Orlando Magic center Andrew DeClercq underwent arthroscopic surgery to repair torn cartilage in his right knee on Tuesday, and was placed on the injured list Wednesday.

The procedure will likely keep DeClercq out for 10-14 days. The 31-year-old has played in 51 of Orlando’s 53 games this season, starting 36.

For the season, the Florida product is averaging 3.2 points and 3.8 rebounds per game while shooting 50 percent from the field.

During his nine-year career, which also included stints with Golden State, Boston and Cleveland, he has posted totals of 4.9 points and 4.2 boards per contest.

Rookie Zaza Pachulia is expected to start at center for DeClercq when the Magic plays intrastate rival Miami on Wednesday.
