(Basketball News) - Marcus Camby registered 20 points and 12 rebounds to lead Denver over the Houston Rockets, 110-100, at the Pepsi Center. Carmelo Anthony also had 20 points for the Nuggets, who received double-digit outputs from all eight of their scorers.
Denver, which is now tied with Portland for the eighth and final playoff spot in the West, got 14 points and nine assists from Andre Miller while Jon Barry added 10 points and a season- high 10 helpers.
Camby hit a jumper early in the third period to cap a 10-0 surge out of the halftime gates that ballooned the cushion to 15 points. Earl Boykins’ basket staked the Nuggets to their largest lead yet, 81-63, with around four minutes to go in the third.
Cuttino Mobley and Jim Jackson each had four points during a 14-4 Rockets flurry that narrowed the gap to 85-77 early in the final period.
The Rockets couldn’t do much more as Denver held them at bay the rest of way en route to the victory.
Denver will return to action on Wednesday at Phoenix.
