(Basketball News) - Voshon Lenard scored 27 points and Carmelo Anthony contributed 26 points, seven assists and six rebounds, as the Denver Nuggets crushed the Washington Wizards, 117-87, on Tuesday at the MCI Center.
Nene had 15 points and seven boards for Denver, which halted a three-game skid and won for only the second time in its last 10 contests. The Nuggets exploded for 71 points in the second half.
Earl Boykins finished with 12 points and six assists for the Nuggets, who snapped a four-game road losing streak.
Lenard has scored in double digits in seven of his last nine games. He has averaged 14.8 points in that span.
Anthony has averaged 27.5 points and seven boards in his last two contests.
The Nuggets visit the New Jersey Nets tonight. Earlier this season, the Nets beat Denver, 95-91, on March 2nd at the Pepsi Center. The Nuggets are 8-3 in Wednesday games this season.
Denver is in eighth place in the Western Conference. The Nuggets lead the ninth-place Utah Jazz by 1 1/2 games.
