Denver Nuggets Team Report - March 22

(Basketball News) - The Denver Nuggets were crushed by the Minnesota Timberwolves, 98-77, on Sunday at the Target Center.

Carmelo Anthony paced Denver with 13 points. Earl Boykins chipped in 11 points and Andre Miller added 10 in the loss for the Nuggets, who have dropped three straight and 12 of their last 16 contests.

Denver, which never led, shot just 31 percent (25-of-81) from the field for the game and scored only 25 points in the first half.

The Nuggets are tied for ninth place with the Portland Trail Blazers, 1/2 game behind the Utah Jazz for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference.

Anthony has averaged 23.3 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.4 assists in his last eight games.

Denver hosts the Los Angeles Clippers tonight. It will be the fourth and final meeting of the season between the two clubs. The Nuggets are 1-2 against the Clippers.
