=== Denver Nuggets Team Report - March 23 ===

(Basketball News) - The Nuggets got back on the winning track Monday night, posting a 102-80 win over the Los Angeles Clippers at the Pepsi Center.

Carmelo Anthony scored 22 points to pace the Nuggets to the win, while Andre Miller added 13 points and seven assists. Anthony finished shooting 6-for-15 from the field and 10-for-12 from the free throw line. The rookie has 40 20- point games this season.

Denver ended a three-game losing streak and drew into a tie for eighth place with idle Utah in the Western Conference playoff race.

Earl Boykins finished with 11 points for the Nuggets, who beat the Clippers for only the second time in seven tilts. Nene finished with 13 points.

The Nuggets used the fastbreak to distance themselves from the Clippers, outscoring Los Angeles 28-9. Denver also shot 40-of-79 for 50.6 percent, compared to just 26-of-73 for 35.6 percent for Los Angeles.

The Nuggets went 27-of-30 from the free throw line, hitting their first 22 attempts.

Denver Marcus Camby sat out the second half with an apparent knee injury. It is unknown when Camby will return to the court.

Denver could become the first team in NBA history to make the playoffs after winning less than 20 games the previous year.

The Nuggets have a day off before returning to the court against the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Pepsi Center Wednesday night. Denver dropped a 98-77 decision to the T’Wolves at the Target Center Saturday evening.
