Anthony scored a team-high 26 points to lead Denver over Dallas, 113-103, in a Midwest Division battle Friday at the Pepsi Center.
Voshon Lenard drained five three-pointers and finished with 22 points for the Nuggets, who won for the fourth time in five games. Denver, which improved to 7-1 at home this season, also received 18 points and seven assists from Andre Miller.
The Nuggets trailed late in the fourth quarter, but Lenard drilled a three- pointer from the right wing to give them a 98-96 lead with 3:20 to play and Denver never trailed the rest of the way.
The Mavericks forged a 98-98 tie it on their next possession on a Antoine Walker bucket in the lane. But on the ensuing possession, the Nuggets went ahead for good a basket by Anthony as Denver led 100-98 with 2:40 remaining.
The next three points in the game came from the stripe, all from Nene. He hit one with 1:47 left and then 39 seconds later, he connected on a pair to increase the Denver margin to 103-98.
Michael Finley drilled a triple with 1:02 to play, cutting the Mavericks’ deficit to three. But that was as close as Dallas would get as Anthony responded with another basket for the Nuggets.
The Nuggets turned the ball over 22 times, but overcame the mishaps with 52 percent shooting from the field.
The Clippers lost their fifth in a row Thursday, dropping a 102-96 decision to the New Jersey Nets at the Staples Center.
Corey Maggette scored 20 points for the Clippers.
The Nets broke a 52-52 tie with an 11-2 run late in the third quarter and led the rest of the way. Two free throws by Jason Kidd capped off the spurt and New Jersey led 63-54 with 2:52 remaining in the frame.
Each team tallied 30 points in the fourth stanza, but the Clippers never seriously threatened.
The Clippers only shot 38 percent from the floor for the game and turned the ball over 18 times.
The Clippers are 2-3 as the host this season.
LA defeated Denver in overtime, 104-102, on November 7.
