Detroit Pistons Looking to Acquire Baron Davis?

06.25.2008 - Updated on 06.25.2008

Given that stalemate, it’s possible that Davis, who wants to stay in the Bay Area but was disappointed with the lowball offers from the Warriors, will ask to be dealt. And the team source said that the Detroit Pistons, rebuffed initially in their attempts to pry forward Carmelo Anthony from the Denver Nuggets, are now looking at Davis as a potential target.

Joe Dumars, the Pistons’ president of basketball operations, gave notice after losing the Eastern Conference finals that no one on his veteran-laden team would be safe, and the source said Detroit is willing to divest itself of longtime stars Rasheed Wallace and Chauncey Billups. You are 100% incorrect Carolina Girl, the one goal in the NBA is to be champions, not just eastern conference champs, NBA champs. This team has shown for the last 4 years that they are unable to win it all. Who wants to be second or third best. The players are getting older. The Pistons should have done what they are promising last year. I love the Pistons and the "core" but it is time for a change. .

This is one the most idiotic ideas mentioned since the 2003 Draft where Joe Dumars drafted Darcl! How about lets give some credit to the same team that reached the ECF 6years in a row. The reached the Finals tw\ice and won 1 championship. How many teams will take that in this League? Joe D u really should reexamine the mockery of what u are trying to do. When this blows up in your face, and it will, then your job will be on the line. You feel like u have to do something and you want to do so to feed the public that u mean business. Well trading Chauncey Billups is not going to solve your problems. You should have traded Rasheed Wallace two seasons ago. And maybe Tayshaun Prince. Your backcourt has no issues. If you do, please believe the consecutive sellouts will be long gone. I will follow Chauncey whereever he goes. .
