Gerald Wallace posted 21 points and 16 rebounds for the Bobcats, who are 10-14 at Charlotte Bobcats Arena this season and have won three of their last four at home. Emeka Okafor posted 16 points and 11 rebounds, while Matt Carroll also had 16 points.
"It’s great that my production is helping us win," Wallace said. "I wish we could have won some of the games we should have won."
Baron Davis scored 21 points for the Warriors, who are 5-18 on the road this season and will also visit Indiana and Minnesota on the current swing. Al Harrington posted 17 points and eight boards, and Andris Biedrins had 15 points and 18 rebounds. Monta Ellis scored 13 points and Stephen Jackson netted 11.
"It was two teams coming in that had played the night before," Harrington said. "Whenever you have that type of situation, it’s going to be whichever team wants it the most. They wanted it more than we did tonight."
Mickael Pietrus hit a pair of free throws with 2:06 remaining to cut the Warriors’ deficit to five, but Felton answered on a layup 23 seconds later and then found Wallace underneath the hoop for a reverse layup with 1:12 left to seal the win for Charlotte.
With the score deadlocked early at nine, Golden State went on an 8-0 spurt capped by an Ellis hook shot with 5:14 remaining, and went on to stake a 28-24 first-quarter lead.
Charlotte got back in it on a 9-3 run capped by a Carroll trey that tied things at 37 with 7:51 left in the second.
Golden State reclaimed control with an 11-1 run capped by a pair of Harrington buckets for a 10-point lead, but the Bobcats clawed back on an 11-2 first-half closing run snapped by an Kelenna Azubuike three with one tick left. Golden State led 53-49 at halftime.
Charlotte got going in the third, outscoring the Warriors by seven in the stanza to notch a 77-74 lead heading into the fourth.
Game Notes
Charlotte guard Derek Anderson suffered a sprained right ankle midway through the first and did not return...This was the second and final meeting of the season between the teams. On January 27th, Harrington scored 28 points and Davis had 17 points and 10 assists to lead the Warriors to a 131-105 victory over the Charlotte Bobcats at ORACLE Arena...The Warriors are 4-2 against the Bobcats.
