Gerald Wallace Knocked Unconscious, Suffers Mild Amnesia

02.23.2008 - Updated on 02.23.2008

“I was mad and I was angry,” Felton said. “I knew Mikki didn’t mean it. But I knew Gerald was out cold. We’re like a family so we were very concerned. I look at him as a big brother so we certainly wanted to play hard for his memory.”

Wallace, discharged late Friday night from Charlotte’s Presbyterian Hospital, was diagnosed with a Grade 3 concussion - or the highest rating that can be given to such an injury. He had a slight case of amnesia and his playing status is uncertain, though it was certain he wouldn’t play in tonight’s 7 p.m. game at Washington.

“I’m sure the guys were concerned and worried for him, for his overall health,” Bobcats coach Sam Vincent said of Wallace, who was carted off the court on a stretcher after a 10-minute delay following taking an elbow from Moore with 9:54 left in the third quarter. [Click here for more from the Gaston Gazette.]
