(Basketball News) - Jason Richardson scored 21 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead Golden State to a 95-89 victory over Utah at the Arena in Oakland.
Mike Dunleavy added 20 points and seven boards for the Warriors, who improved to 3-1 in their own building this season.
After an early 4-4 tie, the Warriors ended the first quarter on a 30-9 run and they never looked back. Richardson capped off the burst with 45 seconds left in the frame via two free throws to go ahead 34-13 heading into the second quarter.
The Warriors outscored the Jazz 20-18 in the second en route to taking a 54-31 advantage into the intermission.
The Jazz outscored the Warriors 31-20 in the third and 27-21 in the fourth, but still never seriously threatened.
The Warriors, who never trailed and led by as many as 26, turned the ball over 20 times, but held Utah to 38 percent shooting to guide them to the win.
With 10 points and 11 rebounds, Erick Dampier posted his fifth straight double-double, a career-high.
This is the latest the Warriors, who are 3-2, have been over .500 since they were 6-5 on November 17, 2001.
The Warriors are off until Monday when they host the Phoenix Suns.
