Hornets activate Wesley

03.1.2004

New Orleans, LA (Basketball News) - The New Orleans Hornets activated guard David Wesley from the injured list on Monday.

Wesley has missed 20 games this season due to a sprained toe on his left foot. The injury occurred back on January 15 in a 78-74 overtime loss against the Toronto Raptors. He was then placed on the injured list two days later.

Wesley is currently third on the club in scoring, averaging 15.5 points and 2.9 assists in 39 games this season.

The Hornets are 32-27 and tied for third in the Central Division. New Orleans heads to Washington to battle the Wizards on Wednesday night.

To make room for Wesley on the roster, the Hornets placed guard Bryce Drew on the injured list with lower back spasms.
