04.16.2007

(Basketball News) - The New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets attempt to halt a two-game losing streak when they visit the Sacramento Kings tonight at ARCO Arena.

New Orleans/Oklahoma City plays the middle contest of a season-ending, three- game road trip. On Saturday, Yao Ming scored 30 points and Tracy McGrady had 25 points and 10 assists as the Houston Rockets topped the Hornets, 123-112, at the Toyota Center.

David West tied a season-high with 33 points in the loss, while Chris Paul scored 20 points and dished out 15 assists for the Hornets, who have dropped three of their last five games overall.

The Hornets are just 13-26 on the road this season. They will visit the Clippers on Wednesday at the Staples Center.

Sacramento opens a season-ending two-game homestand. Ron Artest posted 15 points and a career-high 10 assists, as the Kings held off the playoff- hopeful Clippers, 105-100, on Sunday at the Staples Center.

Francisco Garcia scored 16 points for Sacramento, which has split its last four games. Mike Bibby contributed 15 points, while Kevin Martin and John Salmons both netted 13 points and Brad Miller 12 in the victory.

The Kings are 20-19 at home this season. They will host the Lakers on Wednesday in their season finale.

The Hornets are 2-1 against the Kings this season, but have lost 11 straight at Sacramento. The last time the Hornets defeated the Kings on the road was on January 12, 1997.
