(Basketball News) - Jermaine O’Neal scored 27 points and hauled down 11 rebounds to lead Indiana over New York, 93-70, Thursday at Conseco Fieldhouse in an Eastern Conference battle.
Ron Artest added 21 points for the Pacers, who won their seventh straight game. Al Harrington netted 12 points and tallied six boards off the bench for Indiana, which has won 12 of its last 13 games and holds the best record in the Eastern Conference at 13-2.
The Pacers started the game on a 12-2 run and they never looked back. O’Neal completed the early burst on a bucket with 9:01 left in the first quarter.
Indiana led 26-19 after the opening 12 minutes before taking a 52-40 edge into the intermission.
The Pacers, who led by as many as 24, continued to dominate in the third quarter, outscoring the Knicks, 26-19.
Indiana rested most of their starters in the final 12 minutes and still held New York to only 11 points in the quarter.
The Pacers played without guard Jamaal Tinsley who is suffering from a sore back.
The Pacers wore jerseys from 1973, when they won the ABA title.
Indiana has won seven in a row for the first time since a nine-game run from November 2-22, 2002.
The Pacers host Allen Iverson and the Philadelphia 76ers tonight.
