Indiana Pacers Team Report - November 8 11.8.2003
|
(Basketball News) - Ron Artest posted the game-winning points with 11.1 seconds remaining on a three-point play and finished with 21 for the second straight night to lift Indiana over Cleveland, 91-90, Friday at Conseco Fieldhouse.
Reggie Miller tallied a season-high 15 points and Jermaine O’Neal collected 14 points and 12 rebounds for the Pacers, who improved to 5-1 on the young season.
After Jeff Foster tied the game at 88-88 via two free throws for the Pacers, DeSagana Diop gave the Cavs another two-point edge when he drilled a jumper in the lane with 26.7 seconds left.
But on the next possession, Artest received the ball in the low post and completed a three-point play after getting fouled by Ricky Davis.
Cleveland then got the ball and LeBron James missed a shot while driving in the lane. The Cavs did get the ball back as it went out of bounds off a Pacer, but Diop missed a shot with just two seconds left and time expired.
The Pacers are off until Sunday when they visit the Philadelphia 76ers.
