Isiah Thomas Provided Scouting Report on Danilo Gallinari

Isiah Thomas, who has been scouting European players since being fired as coach, provided Walsh with a good report on Gallinari, who played last season for Armani Jeans of Milan.

"He told me, ’This kid won’t back down,’" Walsh said.

Walsh insisted that drafting Gallinari has nothing to do with David Lee possibly being traded, but did add that it will create a "survival of the fittest" when it comes to minutes.

And as for the Bronx cheer Gallinari received, Walsh, a Bronx native, understands.
