Jamison helps Wizards edge Magic 12.29.2006

Antawn Jamison posted a double-double with 25 points and 11 rebounds while Caron Butler scored 20 for the Wizards, who have won five in a row and eight of nine. With the win, Washington takes a slight lead over the Magic for first place in the Southeast Division.
Hedo Turkoglu, Dwight Howard and Keyon Dooling each netted 20 points for Orlando, which has dropped four in a row. Howard also grabbed 12 boards, while Trevor Ariza donated 18 points off the bench.
The game went down to the wire, with Jamison giving the Wizards a slim 107-104 lead after a pair of free throws with 3:42 on the clock.
However, Howard countered with a pair of free throws of his own, and Jameer Nelson followed with a driving layup to put the Magic up by a point.
Jamison made a return trip to the charity stripe on the ensuing possession and went 1-of-2 to knot the game at 108-108. The Wizards then came up with a defensive stop, and capitalized on the other end with a Butler jumper to reclaim the lead.
Jamison again drew a foul on the next series and drained both tries to up the advantage to 112-108 with 12 seconds remaining.
Dooling answered with a three-pointer with three seconds left to pull his team within one, but Orlando was unable to get the ball back.
The Wizards finished a high-flying first half down 63-59, but outscored their opponent 26-19 in the third quarter to move in front by three.

Nelson had 15 points and five assists in the loss...The Wizards improved to 11-3 at home...The Magic dropped to 7-8 on the road...Jamison has seven double-doubles on the year.
