Jazz’ Clark placed on injured list; Borchardt activated

11.9.2003

Salt Lake City, UT (Basketball News) - Utah Jazz forward/center Keon Clark was placed on the injured list Saturday due to a bone spur in his ankle. Clark will need to undergo surgery next week and will be sidelined six-to-eight weeks.

The 28-year-old Clark has played in just two games this season due to the injury.

The Jazz did receive some good news on Saturday, though, as the team activated center Curtis Borchardt, who missed all of last season with a foot injury and the first five games of this campaign due to a non-displaced fracture in his left hand.

The 7-foot-1 Borchardt, who was a first-round pick out of Stanford in 2002, played in his first professional game Saturday, a 96-89 win over Memphis.

Borchardt had two points and two blocks in 18 minutes of action.
