On Monday, the Jazz try to get back on the winning track when they welcome the Orlando Magic tonight to EnergySolutions Arena. It is the first of two meetings this season between the Jazz and Orlando. The Magic are scheduled to host Utah on March 14, 2007 at TD Waterhouse Centre.
Orlando has lost two of three and eight of its last 10 at Utah. The Magic have won four of the last five contests in this series.
Utah had its eight-game winning streak ended on Saturday at Oakland. Matt Barnes scored 17 of his career-high 24 points in the third quarter and Monta Ellis added 21, as the Golden State Warriors used a balanced attack to beat the Jazz, 91-78, at ORACLE Arena.
Matt Harpring ended with 15 points, while Deron Williams scored 14 and dished out eight assists in the loss to Golden State for the Jazz, who are still and impressive 12-2 on the season.
The Jazz are a perfect 7-0 at home this season. They will host Tim Duncan and the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday in the finale of a short two-game homestand. The Spurs have won 10 of their last 12 at Utah.
Utah will visit the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday at the Staples Center and will host the Seattle SuperSonics on Saturday. The Jazz are 1-0 against both clubs this season.
Carlos Boozer leads the Jazz in scoring (21.9 ppg) and rebounding (12.7 rpg). He has collected 11 double-doubles and has scored 20 or more points nine times this season.
Williams has dished out a team-best 9.2 assists per game. The Illinois product, who is playing in his second season in the NBA, is second on the team in scoring (17.7 ppg) and has recorded six double-doubles.
