01.12.2007

(Basketball News) - The Sacramento Kings and Portland Trail Blazers try and halt their three-game losing streaks, as they meet tonight at the Rose Garden.

This is the third meeting of the season between the squads. The teams split a pair of contests at ARCO Arena. Portland is scheduled to host the Kings on March 3rd in the fourth and final meeting of the campaign between the clubs.

Sacramento has won two straight after losing its last three at Portland. The Kings have won three of the last four contests in this series.

Sacramento lost its last three games of a five-game homestand and finished 2-3 on the stand. On Tuesday, superstar LeBron James scored 34 points, 24 in a second half in which the Cavaliers overcame an early 17-point deficit and defeated the Kings, 108-98, at ARCO Arena.

Mike Bibby scored 26 points in the loss to Cleveland for the Kings, who have lost seven of their last 11 games overall. Brad Miller ended with 24 points, while Kevin Martin netted 23 and pulled down 11 rebounds in defeat.

The Kings are just 4-8 on the road this season. They return home to host the Houston Rockets on Saturday before embarking on a four-game road trip. Sacramento is scheduled to visit New York, Toronto, Boston and Detroit on the upcoming swing.

Portland starts a three-game homestand this evening. On Wednesday, Jason Terry scored 20 points, Josh Howard contributed 17 points and eight rebounds and the Dallas Mavericks defeated the Portland Trail Blazers, 99-74, at American Airlines Center.

Zach Randolph led Portland with 21 points in the loss to Dallas, while Brandon Roy scored 15 for the Trail Blazers, who have lost seven of their last eight games overall. LaMarcus Aldridge scored 14 points and grabbed six rebounds in defeat.

The Trail Blazers are 7-11 at home this season. They will also host the Denver Nuggets and Cavaliers on the current stand.
