LeBron James to Enter 2010 Dunk Contest

  By C.Y. Ellis
02.14.2009 - Updated on 02.14.2009

As we mentioned in our recent All-Star Saturday liveblog, LeBron James has "preliminarily" entered his name for the 2010 dunk contest in Dallas. Whether or not he follows through on his qualified statement is yet to be seen, but the fact that he made a public announcement has to count for something.

Here’s the report from ESPN.com:

LeBron James announced on TNT during Saturday night’s Slam Dunk Contest that he wants to participate in next season’s competition.

James told TNT’s Cheryl Miller that he is entering his name as a preliminary contestant in 2010, when All-Star Weekend heads to Dallas.

Is LeBron James now the undisputed favourite for the 2010 dunk contest or did his less-than-stellar performance in his high school contest suggest that he’s not making the most of his athleticism? Let us know what you think by leaving a comment in the box below.

Well, Lebron might just win it depending who is in it in 2010. And Lebron does have creativity, he just doesn’t do it in games. He Will win mvp this year, but the celtics will win the finals .

thats bull! he’s gonna win it because the judges are gonna favor him just like they did over nate robinson. The only reason nate one was because he won in 2006. jr got overlooked because no one knew who he was .
