(Basketball News) - The Los Angeles Clippers lost to the Memphis Grizzlies, 98-92, on Saturday at the Staples Center.

Elton Brand and Corey Maggette led all scorers with 18 points, as the Clippers lost their fourth game in a row and sixth out of seven. Maggette also dished out a career-high seven assists.

After a tightly contested three quarters, Memphis took control with a 14-5 run to start out the final frame. Stromile Swift sparked the rally with a three- point play and a strong putback, tallying seven points in all during the burst.

A reverse by Bo Outlaw finished things off with the Grizzlies ahead, 87-76, with eight minutes remaining.

Los Angeles let the game slide away, as the team shot just 2-of-13 in the first 7 1/2 minutes of the final stanza. The Clippers got as close as six in the last minute, but the outcome was already decided.

Rookie Chris Kaman recorded a double-double with 10 points and 11 boards for the Clippers, whose bench was outscored by the Grizzlies, 39-21.

The Clippers host the Portland Trail Blazers tonight. It will be the third meeting of the season between the two clubs. Both teams have picked up a win on its homecourt in the two previous contests. The teams will also play on March 24th at the Rose Garden.

Portland has won six of eight and nine of the last 12 meetings with the Clippers. The Blazers have lost two straight and five of their last seven at the Clippers. The home team has won 12 of the last 14 contests in this series.
