Magic cruise past Bucks 01.31.2007
|
Tony Battie scored a season-high 15 points and pulled down six rebounds for the Magic, who snapped a three-game losing skid.
Keith Bogans poured in 14 points and dished out seven assists and Darko Milicic recorded a double-double with 14 points and 10 boards in the win.
Orlando finished 46.6 percent shooting in the contest.
Mo Williams netted 23 points on 8-of-16 from the field for the Bucks, who have dropped two straight and 13 of their last 15. Andrew Bogut added 12 points and seven rebounds while Charlie Bell donated 11 points in defeat.
Orlando broke a 9-9 tie by scoring 14 straight points as part of a 22-4 burst in the final 5:46 of the first quarter. Battie’s 12 points in the frame led the Magic to a strong 31-13 lead.
The domination continued in the second for Orlando, which went up by 20 when Bogans hit a layup early on, and outscored Milwaukee by nine points in the quarter en route to a 56-29 halftime advantage.
In the third, and with the Magic leading 61-32 at the 10:21 mark, the Bucks went on a 15-0 scamper — capped by Bell’s three-pointer — to cut within 14. That would be as close as Milwaukee would get, though, as Orlando held a 69-53 edge after three.
The Bucks got no closer than 13 points in the fourth as the Magic cruised to victory.
