Marbury helped guide the Knicks to a 3-1 mark while averaging 22.5 points, a league-best 12.3 assists and 2.5 rebounds per game. He also posted back-to- back double-doubles.
On January 12 against Dallas, Marbury had a game-high 38 points on 14-of-24 shooting. He also dished out a game-best 14 assists in the 127-121 overtime loss. Two nights later, the point guard contributed 26 points and 10 assists in a 120-110 win over the Magic.
Finley led Dallas to a perfect 4-0 record, which included back-to-back overtime wins, and scored 26.5 points per game while grabbing 6.3 boards and 4.0 assists each contest.
He netted 25 points, hauled in 10 rebounds and dished out six assists while playing all 53 minutes in the overtime win over the Knicks. On January 14 against Philadelphia, he poured in a game-high 32 points and grabbed eight boards in a double-overtime victory.
