Mason out indefinitely for Hornets

Oklahoma City, OK (Basketball News) - New Orleans Hornets forward Desmond Mason is sidelined indefinitely with a fractured cheek bone and nose.

Mason, who is fourth on the team in scoring at 13.7 points per game, suffered the injury after receiving an elbow from Seattle’s Chris Wilcox in an overtime win over the SuperSonics on Wednesday. Mason hasn’t missed a game yet this season.

The Hornets, who host Phoenix on Friday, are 2 1/2 games behind the Los Angeles Clippers for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference.
