Dallas opened the season 0-4, but has since ripped off five straight wins, including Saturday’s 89-84 win over the Memphis Grizzlies at American Airlines Center.
Dirk Nowitzki poured in a game-high 24 points and pulled down 13 rebounds to lead the Mavs. Nowitzki was 7-of-15 from the floor and finished a perfect 10- for-10 from the foul line.
Jason Terry scored 19 points and Devin Harris added 12 for the Mavericks.
Meanwhile, the Bobcats have dropped five of their last six games and suffered a 97-83 setback to the Orlando Magic on Saturday at TD Waterhouse Center.
Emeka Okafor scored a game-high 26 points on 13-of-15 shooting and Sean May added 12 for the Bobcats, who are 2-7 this season. Adam Morrison and Raymond Felton each had 10 points in the loss.
Dallas is 4-0 all-time against Charlotte and went 2-0 in the 2005-06 season series. The Mavericks have won both of their trips to Charlotte Bobcats Arena.
