Memphis Grizzlies Team Report - December 8

(Basketball News) - Pau Gasol scored 17 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead Memphis to a 93-79 win over Portland Sunday at The Pyramid.

This was the first meeting between the teams since the clubs consummated a deal last week that saw Portland ship disgruntled guard Bonzi Wells to the Grizzlies for veteran sharpshooter Wesley Person and a conditional 2004 first round draft pick.

Mike Miller added 17 points for the Grizzlies, who have won five straight games. Wells and Stromile Swift each had 16 points in the win. Swift also hauled in nine boards.

Earl Watson finished with a career-high 14 assists in the win.

Memphis is off until Wednesday when it hosts the Atlanta Hawks.
